As I said, I am the Founder and Creative Director of STATE. After working for 13 years at some awesome and not-so-awesome studios, I've noticed that I have never found a place that I was comfortable about doing things the way I believe. That is one of the main reasons I decided to build a studio that I could do things differently. Well, you may think that this is cheesy as hell, but the fact is: I am actually doing that. With this mindset, I'm trying to set up new standards, not only for myself but also for people I collaborate with, including my clients.
I started my career in Brazil, just outside São Paulo around 2000. Then I traveled around the country, and I was lucky enough to work with the best people that speak Portuguese. But in 2006, I felt the need to re-learn everything I knew and go for a full reset on my career/life. That's when I decided to move to Los Angeles in late 2007. Since then, I’ve been collaborating with the best people around the globe that speak different languages, including Portuguese too. :)
In 2014, after trying to work with all my friends and utterly failing (Still love them), I founded STATE along with my partner at the time, Joe Nash. Now, I run the studio along with my lovely partner Tais, Alex and a badass group of people. STATE is one of the craziest things I've done. Since then, I've been collaborating with the most open-minded clients from all around the world.
A cyclist in my spare time, I love riding bicycles which keeps me fresh and ready for all the craziness at STATE.
